Before Thursday's performance by Sears, five players had double-digit 3-point makes in an NCAA Tournament game: Loyola Maymount's Jeff Fryer in 1990 (11), Oakland's Jack Gohlke in 2024 (10), Purdue's Carsen Edwards in 2019 (10), Memphis' Roburt Sallie in 2009 (10) and UNLV's Freddie Banks in 1987 (10).

Led by Mark Sears, Alabama broke the 34-year-old record for 3-pointers in an NCAA Tournament game. The Tide hit their 22nd with 7:14 remaining in their East Region semifinal against BYU on Thursday night.
