NASCAR Cup drivers are helping shovel snow at Bowman Gray after storm
Both Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Todd Gilliland are lending a hand as the track works to be ready for fans once the postponed event gets going
A little midweek NASCAR action? Not mad about it. The NASCAR Cup Series Cook Out Clash, the preseason exhibition race at Bowman Gray Stadium, has been moved to Wednesday, February 4 amid a snowstorm that hit North Carolina this weekend.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. may still be public enemy No. 1 at Bowman Gray Stadium after last season’s debacle with Burt Myers. Still, that didn’t stop him from grabbing a shovel.
With the Clash at Bowman Gray happening on Wednesday, everybody is helping to prepare.
The Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium was postponed until Wednesday as a result of the impacts of a winter storm that dropped about a foot of snow on Winston-Salem. But with the storm passed now, efforts to clear the track are already underway.
To avoid complications, NASCAR rescheduled the weekend plans and shifted Saturday's events to a one-day show on Sunday, February 1. However, veteran driver Kenny Wallace believes 6-8 inches of snow will be tough to clear before the Clash. He instead called for the event to be postponed to a later date.
