Seeking a "happier medium," Orioles general manager Mike Elias said the team will adjust its left field wall again, bringing it closer in and reducing its height.

The Baltimore Orioles will alter the left-field dimensions at Camden Yards for the second time in three years ahead of Opening Day 2025, top baseball operations executive Mike Elias revealed on Friday.

After adjusting the left field dimensions at Oriole Park before the 2022 season, Baltimore will make alterations ahead of the 2025 campaign.

The Orioles last changed the dimensions of the left-field wall, moving it back, between the 2021 and 2022 seasons in an effort to pursue a more neutral and pitcher-friendly array at Camden Yards. At the time, Oriole Park was "extremely homer prone," as Elias put it.

The move comes after two seasons in which the baseball operations department realized the wall had become something of a “distraction” for hitters, particularly right-handed batters.
