Just 24 hours after heavy rain flooded several homes on Chicago’s West Side, more rain on Saturday afternoon made it difficult for residents to dry out their belongings.
Some families in the southwest suburbs were dealing with the aftermath of flash flooding after severe storms and heavy downpours on Friday.
A line of fast-moving storms prompted severe thunderstorm warnings in the Chicago area and ground stops at O'Hare and Midway airports. There were also reports of storm damage.
Friday’s heavy rain caused lots of flooding on the city’s Southwest Side and neighboring suburbs, and affected residents want answers.
While some storms will start impacting the region this evening, rainfall is likely to intensify overnight. With humidity remaining at very high levels, any precipitation could quickly turn to torrential rainfall.
