A federal court order has temporarily blocked the closure of 99 contractor-operated Job Corps sites around the country, including campuses in Tulsa, Tahlequah and Guthrie.
Approximately 350 students once lived and studied at the Guthrie Job Corps, with only about a tenth remaining after the Trump administration cut federal funding.
U.S. District Judge Andrew Carter issued a temporary restraining order to stop the Department of Labor’s immediate efforts to close all 99 contract-operated Job Corps Centers. A hearing is set for June 17.
