The Diamondbacks received some good news on the injury front for a change with updates on Shelby Miller and Eugenio Suarez.
An incident at a baseball game in Chicago last month between the Diamondbacks and the White Sox got the attention of the sports world — and not in a good way.
Marte was at the MLB All-Star Game in Atlanta at the time of the incident. Police said no one was at the home in Paradise Valley. There were signs of forced entry, and numerous personal items and jewelry pieces were missing, police said. The investigation remains active.
Incidentally, Marte will get to play alongside Machado, the starter at third base, for the National League in the All-Star game. Fernando Tatis Jr. also earned an All-Star selection as an outfielder, but is on the reserves.
