Martian meteorite, found in the Sahara Desert in 2023, fetched a record price of $5.3 million at Sotheby's in New York on Wednesday. The piece is the largest Martian rock ever found on Earth and represents nearly seven percent of all known Martian material.

A 54-pound meteorite from Mars is expected to fetch up to $4 million when it goes up for auction later this month at Sotheby's.
