Liverpool Women have ended Matt Beard’s second spell in charge of the club, with Amber Whiteley taking interim charge

Liverpool have confirmed that women's first team manager Matt Beard will leave his post with immediate effect. Beard first joined LFC Women in 2012, winning back-to-back Women's Super League (WSL) titles in 2013 and 2014 before he left in 2015.

Matt Beard’s departure from Liverpool has come as a shock to most people in the game. But it was not a huge surprise to Beard. Conversations between Liverpool and Beard, now their former women’s team manager, are understood to have been taking place over the past couple of weeks.
