Jimmy Snuggerud scored twice and helped the No. 4/3 Golden Gophers men's hockey team rally for a 3-3 tie on the road at No. 2 Michigan State inside Munn Ice Arena Saturday night.

Two top-ranked NCAA Men’s Ice Hockey teams square off on Friday night, and you won’t want to miss it. The Michigan State Spartans host the Minnesota Golden Gophers for a two-game stint beginning on Friday, January 24, 2025, and concluding on Saturday, January 25, 2025.

Jimmy Snuggerud's goal made it a 5-3 game headed into the third period, but the Spartans lit the lamp four more times for the 9-3 final score. It is the most goals scored by an MSU team against Minnesota since Feb. 1, 1980.

Matt Basgall, Joey Larson and Tanner Kelly each scored an even-strength goal for Michigan State, which improved to 20-3-3 overall, 11-2-3 in the Big Ten. Daniel Larson and Isaac Howard scored in the shootout for the Spartans, while goaltender Trey Augustine stopped both the Gophers’ attempts.
