Wide receiver Stefon Diggs met the media as a member of the Patriots for the first time on Friday and his new quarterback was an early topic of conversation in his press conference. Drake Maye had a good rookie season in New England and showed an ability to make plays with both his arm and his legs for a Patriots team that was short on playmakers.

Due to his size, arm strength, and athleticism, Maye has drawn comparisons to the Bills quarterback. Diggs’ introduction to Maye came last season in Week 6 when the then-rookie quarterback made his NFL debut against the Houston Texans.

Stefon Diggs commented on the similarities between Patriots quarterback Drake Maye and Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

Diggs talked about Patriots coach Mike Vrabel being part of the impetus to sign with New England. He had met Vrabel during a Pro Bowl and was impressed. The wide receiver recited chapter and verse about Vrabel, and the importance of him being a former player.
