WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration is releasing billions of dollars in grants to schools for adult literacy, English language instruction and other programs, the Education Department said Friday.

The Department of Education intends to release a hold on billions in grant funding to schools after a near months-long pause in revenue for school districts, the department told states Friday.

Lawmakers of both parties had lobbied to release the funding, which supports English-language-learning programs, teacher training and academic enrichment.
