Davey Lopes, the first base coach for the Phillies' long-awaited breakout into the postseason in 2007 and then for their run to the World Series title in 2008, died Wednesday.

Davey Lopes, a key member of the Dodgers' famed infield during the team's 1970s and 1980s success, has died at age 80.

Mr. Lopes was a four-time All-Star during his 10 years with the Dodgers.
