Far Cry Live-Action TV Show From Alien: Earth Creator Gets Huge Update
The live action TV show adaptation of the blockbuster Far Cry video game franchise has officially received a green light. FX has placed a series order for the show, which will be helmed by the creator of Alien: Earth.
Filmmaker Noah Hawley earned a lot of buzz earlier this year with his Alien: Earth, the first TV series set within the world of the Alien franchise, with FX confirming today that he's hopping into another exciting world by developing an anthology based on the world of the Far Cry video game series.
The Far Cry franchise is officially making the leap to TV. The Hollywood Reporter writes that the project is coming to FX with Noah Hawley of Alien: Earth and Fargo fame, and Rob Mac (previously Rob McElhenney) from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia joining as executive producers.
Based on Ubisoft's hit video game franchise, the limited anthology series will stream on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The anthology will also parallel the video games' format by having a new setting and cast of characters in each season.
Earlier this year, Ubisoft accidentally leaked the first word that a Far Cry TV series was in development with It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Rob Mac and Alien: Earth creator Noah Hawley. Now, it's official. Far Cry is going forward as television show on FX and Hulu.
