The Sycamore Fire has burned more than 3,300 acres near Globe, within the Tonto National Forest, since it began on June 15.

Fire officials are bracing for an active fire season in Northern California as high temperatures dry out forests. Southern California will likely see a typical season.

At McClellan Airfield, pilots, crews, and command staff took part in a nighttime aerial firefighting exercise designed to prepare them to battle wildfires after dark.
