After hiring Mike Vrabel, now the New England Patriots have reportedly hired a six-time Super Bowl champion offensive coordinator.

Josh McDaniels is joining Vrabel’s coaching staff as New England’s offensive coordinator, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. A six-time Super Bowl champion as an assistant coach, McDaniels is best known as Bill Belichick’s longtime offensive playcaller.

A coaching journey he needed to take, and the former star linebacker uniquely suited to put a faltering franchise back on track.

The Patriots coaching staff is quickly taking shape under new head coach Mike Vrabel. According to ESPN, New England is hiring Lions defensive line coach Terrell Williams to be the team's defensive coordinator. Before his time with the Lions, Williams spent several years on Vrabel's coaching staff in Tennessee.

Newly hired Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel interviewed Josh McDaniels on Tuesday for the team's offensive coordinator vacancy, Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz reports. McDaniels was New England's offensive coordinator under Bill Belichick for 13 seasons across two stints and an assistant coach under Belichick for five years prior to that.
