Phoenix officers were called to South Mountain Park near South Central Avenue and West Las Ramadas Drive around 1:50 p.m. after a hiker reported finding a human skull.
The skull showed signs of trauma. South Mountain Park includes 16,000 acres with over 50 miles of trails and three mountain ranges, according to the City of Phoenix.
