Following the death of heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne, comments from wife Sharon Osbourne on assisted suicide have started to resurface online.

The claim about his health and the COVID-19 vaccine is consistent with a common conspiracy theory that spread online during the pandemic, falsely attributing numerous famous peoples' deaths to the vaccine. Before Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22 in Buckinghamshire, England, a "helicopter was dispatched to provide advanced critical care," a Thames Valley Air Ambulance spokesperson confirmed to PEOPLE in a statement.

The statement was signed by the singer's wife, Sharon Osbourne, and their children, Jack Osbourne, Kelly Osbourne and Aimee Osbourne. Louis Osbourne, his son with his ex-wife, Thelma Riley, also signed the statement.
