Scores of unexploded bombs dating from World War II have been recovered from a children’s playground in northern England after a chance discovery.

Dozens of World War II-era training bombs were accidentally discovered at a playground in Wooler, Northumberland, in northern England. During maintenance work, two bombs were initially found and removed by British Army bomb disposal experts. The local council then requested a full inspection of the playground.
