The Boston Celtics have advanced to the Eastern Conference Semifinals after a decisive 120-89 victory over the Orlando Magic in Game 5 at TD Garden. Despite trailing 49-47 at halftime, the Celtics unleashed a dominant second-half performance, outscoring the Magic 73-40, including a 36-13 third quarter fueled by a 24-4 run.

The Celtics’ first-round slugfest came to a merciful end Tuesday night at TD Garden. By taking Game 5 120-89, Boston avoided a return trip to Orlando and another matchup with the bulldog Magic, who brought the fight to the reigning NBA champions during their brief but physical series.
