While most NFL analyst project the Atlanta Falcons to focus heavily on defense in the 2025 NFL draft, the team has rarely done what was expected during the four drafts under general manager Terry Fontenot.

The Atlanta Falcons are entering their fifth draft under general manager Terry Fontenot, but for the first time in five years, they don't have a top-10 pick. The team has mostly hit on its first-round picks since Fontenot took over in 2021. Even former No. 4 pick Kyle Pitts had the best rookie season by a tight end in 60 years.

The Falcons remain committed to keeping quarterback Kirk Cousins, unless they can find a deal good for all parties involved.

Meanwhile, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer previously reported that the Falcons want a buying team "to take on a sizable chunk" of Cousins' salary. His contract has a full no-trade clause, and he could block a move to a club not willing to name him its Week 1 starter.
