A proposed class-action lawsuit against Apple, which alleges that the company underpays its female staff, is going forward after all.

Apple Inc. was unable to convince a California state court judge to toss out a proposed class action alleging the tech giant systematically underpays women in its engineering and marketing divisions compared to men in similar positions.

A four-year-old class action lawsuit filed in the UK again Apple’s App Store fees will finally go to trial today with up to 1.5 billion pounds (about US$1.83 billion) in potential damages at stake, according to AppleInsider.

This is something that Apple has been accused of doing. A judge has ruled that Apple now needs to face a class-action lawsuit over its alleged underpaying of its women employees. The issue of underpaying its female workers surfaced back in 2021.
