State Senator John Damoose, R-Harbor Springs, provided a lengthy update on the progress being made in several northern Michigan counties on social media. If Upper Peninsula residents are in critical need of resources, residents should contact their county’s sheriff’s office, Damoose said.
The National Weather Service confirmed that EF-1 and EF-0 tornadoes touched down in Michigan from Sunday's storm.
"March is a month that can have a wide range of weather in Michigan, it just depends on the year," National Weather Service meteorologist Megan Varcie in White Lake Township said. "Some Marches are warm and quiet to start off and in others, you can have big winter storms."
