President Donald Trump departed the Middle East Friday touting economic deals and portraying himself as the ticket to a peaceful solution in many of the world’s major conflicts.

At least six officials in Donald Trump's administration, including the president himself, have previously done business in or with Qatar. Qatar has been in the news amid criticism of Trump's intention to accept a $400 million plane as a gift from Qatar's royal family.

President Trump joked Friday that he regretted not asking “for more” from the Gulf states during his visit to the Middle East, where he secured more than $2 trillion in US investments and even scored a potential replacement for Air Force One.
