Allen, who just turned 30, joined the Lions last March after spending a year with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He started the 2025 training camp as an underdog for the backup quarterback spot behind Jared Goff, but ended up winning the job over Hendon Hooker. This led the Lions to release Hooker before the 2025 season.
