Texans running back Joe Mixon has been handed a reissued $25,000 fine by the NFL, in this instance for his actual comments about the officiating in the divisional round matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Texans.

The NFL fined Houston Texans running back Joe Mixon for comments he never made, then re-issued the fine with comments he did make amid controversy.

Running back Joe Mixon has been a workhorse for the Hosuston Texans’ offense, but is listed on the team’s injury report ahead of its divisional round playoff matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday, January 18. Could the Texans be without their leading running back this weekend?

Mixon presents a difficult look for the Chiefs. He is strong between the tackles but also has the ability to create havoc as a pass catcher. The Texans will be missing slot receiver Tank Dell due to an injury suffered at KC in Week 16 and could rely on Mixon to absorb some of those intermediate routes.

After getting fined for something he didn't say, Joe Mixon is still getting fined for what he did say after the Texans' loss.

In last week’s wild-card round win over the Los Angeles Chargers, Mixon became the first running back since Arian Foster in 2012 to rush for 100 yards in a playoff game. He finished with 106 yards and scored a 17-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to ice the game.

Houston linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair (knee), right guard Shaq Mason (knee), offensive lineman Juice Scruggs (ankle) and wide receiver Robert Woods (hip) also were active. Woods did not practice all week and had been listed as questionable.

"Everybody knows how it is playing (in Kansas City)," Joe Mixon said after Saturday's playoff loss. "The whole world sees, man."
