With the San Francisco 49ers and Brock Purdy not having reached a contract agreement yet, one NFL analyst decided to put together a list of possible landing spots in the event Purdy gets traded. He pegged one lowly AFC team as a possible suitor if the quarterback hits the trade block.

Sources tell ESPN's Adam Schefter that former first-round pick and Pro Bowl quarterback Mac Jones is heading to the NFC West to be Brock Purdy 's backup. The deal is believed to be a two-year contract worth $7 million, with $5 million guaranteed.

Of the 25 names released by the NFL who cashed in, Purdy came in at No. 16 and he wasn’t even the highest 49er player on the list. That went to rookie guard Dominick Puni, who received $898,036 after playing all but one snap in 17 games after being a third-round draft pick out of Kansas.

The San Francisco 49ers added some competition in the quarterback room for Brock Purdy, and the addition of Mac Jones should be good for Purdy.
