A 6-year-old girl is fighting for her life today after being shot and taken to a neighbor by an Illinois man who allegedly killed five other people, including two children.

Illinois lawmakers proposed a bill that would have required families to notify schools that they would be homeschooling their children. The bill received over 40,000 witness slips in opposition.
