A Cornell University graduate student whose visa was revoked following his involvement in a lawsuit against the Trump administration over its actions against pro-Palestinian student protesters announced Monday that he will be leaving the U.

A senior official with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security claimed, without evidence, that the student was a "terrorist sympathizer."

Momodou Taal, a Ph.D. student who had been suspended by the university after participating in pro-Palestinian protests, said he “took the decision to leave the United States.”
