Doctors at HCA Florida Brandon Hospital said they’ve seen a noticeable uptick in patients coming in with symptoms of heat exhaustion — especially outdoor workers like landscapers and roofers.

Region 12: High Plains — Extending from Montana down to the north of Texas, this vast region is expected to see warm, wet temperatures for the season. This is one of the only regions in the U.S. that is anticipated to experience an increase in precipitation.

The National Weather Service has issued severe thunderstorm warnings for New York City and parts of the Hudson Valley, New Jersey and Connecticut, with expected wind gusts of up to 70 mph and potential hail. After several mild summer weather days, the excessive heat has returned. Additionally, severe weather could be a factor for some Friday night.
