Karen Read is accused of murder in the death of her Boston police officer boyfriend John O'Keefe after a night of drinking on January 29, 2
Lawyers representing the family of John O’Keefe in the wrongful death lawsuit they are pursuing against Karen Read are asking a judge to force Read to give more information to support her claims that someone other than her is responsible for O’Keefe’s death.
The Lifetime adaptation is one of several in the works, and the first to dramatize Read’s case outside of a docuseries. The post Karen Read Lifetime movie premiering in January appeared first on Boston.
Karen Read was found not guilty of manslaughter and second-degree murder. Now she's suing former witnesses for defamation of her character.
"I believe that counsel for all involved have not made sufficient attempts to narrow areas of disagreement," the judge wrote in his order.
Lifetime has three new ripped-from-the-headline movies premiering in January, including the new Kate Beckinsale and Scott Eastwood film Stolen Girl, Accused: The Karen Read Story, and I Am Mary Jo Buttafuoco.
A jury found Karen Read not guilty of second-degree murder Wednesday in the death of her Boston police officer boyfriend John O’Keefe, but guilty of a lesser charge of drunk driving.
A South Shore body shop repaired the damage to Karen Read's SUV to prepare it for auction. The SUV is one she was driving the night John O'Keefe died.
Lifetime announced its January true crime films on Thursday. "I Am Mary Jo Buttafuoco," "Accused: The Karen Read Story" and "Stolen Girl" will air.
