A blast at a mosque in Pakistan’s capital killed at least 31 people and injured more than a hundred, local reports said, the latest incident of violence in the South Asian nation facing a surge in militant attacks.
The attack comes less than three months after a suicide blast outside a court in Islamabad and coincided with the ongoing state visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Islamic State on Friday claimed responsibility for an attack by a suicide bomber on a Shi'ite Muslim mosque in Islamabad that killed at least 31 people.
