A vegetation fire broke out in Clearlake in Northern California on Sunday afternoon, prompting mandatory evacuations as it spread over 340 acres within two hours. As of 5 p.m., it has reached 5% containment.

The Gifford fire has rapidly spread after firefighters contained the Madre fire. Together, the two blazes have already burned over 100,000 acres.

Here are other updates on Northern California wildfires. The Orleans Complex fire spanning Del Norte and Siskiyou counties was 80% contained, according to a Friday update from firefighting agencies. The cluster of fires started July 8 and, since early Thursday morning, includes the Big Cliff Fire, an uncontained blaze that has spread to 247 acres.
