The Denver Police Department has a new high-tech training tool to help recruits and officers train for high-stress situations in a controlled environment.

The Pathways to Policing Program offers a paid, full-time education for aspiring officers, including salary and benefits.

Since the start of 2025, at least 13 people have been shot at three different nightclubs in Jackson, according to the Jackson Police Department.

The bill being introduced Tuesday would create a program to cover education costs for those interested in criminal justice.

No prior law enforcement experience is required, but applicants must attend a police academy before they can join the force.
