Gill alleges in the lawsuit that her premature infant child developed necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) as a result of being fed Abbott's products for premature babies.

In the case now at trial, Gill alleges her daughter was given Abbott’s cow’s milk-based infant feeding products as a premature infant, which caused her to develop NEC.
