Overall, major crime was down 11% in the first three months of 2025 compared to the same period a year ago, led by a drop of nearly 35% in homicides, a decline of nearly 23% in robberies as well as dip of 13.7% percent in grand larceny, the latest NYPD statistics revealed.
The number of shootings in the first three months of 2025 was the lowest since 1994, but rape numbers were up and more children were shot, according to police statistics.
