In the bottom of the fourth inning, Padres third baseman Manny Machado showed visible discomfort after a swing against Braves pitcher Spencer Schwellenbach. Machado fouled the ball off and began hobbling out of the batter's box, clearly favoring his right leg. Moments later, an athletic trainer was on the field checking on the six-time All-Star.
