National Weather Service crews are surveying areas of tornado damage and have confirmed more than a dozen tornadoes from Saturday's deadly outbreak.

Alabama was struck with possibly 17 tornadoes during Saturday's outbreak of severe weather, with the storms causing at least three fatalities and several injuries.

Winds of up to 120 miles per hour wreaked destruction across the county as a huge weather system battered swathes of the U.S.

This marks quite the forecast for Alabama’s introduction to spring 2025. A chilly northwest wind is expected Thursday morning, with temperatures in the 40s. Afternoon highs will only reach the 50s, 10 to 15 degrees below normal for March 20 in Birmingham.

More information about the damage from Saturday’s severe weather that passed through Alabama is expected as the sun comes up and recovery crews are able to assess the situations.

The possibility of severe weather remains in the forecast for Alabama both on Sunday and Monday. Tornadoes, damaging winds, hail and heavy rain will all be possible on both days, according to the National Weather Service. Forecasters added that the tornado threat is uncertain, but there is the potential for it to increase.
