New Orleans and the surrounding area were placed under a flood advisory Monday afternoon by the National Weather Service as the region dealt with heavy rain that left thousands without power. 6,958 customers were without power in New Orleans, according to Entergy's outage map. The outages were largely in the Uptown/Carrollton areas.
Flash flood warnings were issued by the National Weather service Monday night as heavy storms rolled into the area. Flood warnings were issued for Morris, Warren, Bergen, Essex, Hunterdon, Hudson, Passaic, Middlesex, Somerset and Union Counties, according to the National Weather Service.
Flood warnings have also been issued along the Frio River, which is "forecast to reach major flood stage" on July 14
On Monday at 8:28 a.m. the NWS Fort Worth TX issued a flood warning in effect until 10:15 a.m. The warning is for Johnson, Bosque, Hamilton, Hill and Somervell counties.
It was the first time a new round of severe weather has paused the search since the flooding earlier this month. Search efforts are expected to resume Monday.
