Invest 93L will move westward over Louisiana on Thursday. The western Florida Panhandle will see minor impacts through Saturday.

A slow-developing, broad area of low pressure located over the far northern portion of the Gulf is threatening to bring heavy rain and flooding.

FOX Weather Correspondent Robert Ray is in New Orleans ahead of some potentially nasty weather as Invest 93L looks to drench parts of Louisiana.

A tropical system that caused flash flooding earlier this week may loop back to Florida next week, bringing renewed flood risks.

Today has been quite gloomy across southern Louisiana as Invest 93L continues to bring heavy rain to the area. As a result, the Flood Watch has been extended into southwest Louisiana until Saturday evening.

We continue to follow the progress of Invest 93L, an area of low pressure that moved from the Atlantic across the northern Florida peninsula on Tuesday and is now scraping westward through the state’s panhandle along the northern Gulf Coast.

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) and the FOX 35 Storm Team are tracking an area of low pressure sitting near the panhandle of Florida: Invest 93L. With plenty of fuel to feed the disturbance, Invest 93L has the potential to become a tropical depression by the end of this week.

Chief Meteorologist Dave Nussbaum says we will be warm and humid tonight. Invest 93L will bring us spotty storms on Thursday, but a better chance for storms on Friday as deep tropical moisture moves across the state.
