The Cram fire northwest of Madras in in Jefferson and Wasco counties is the largest wildfire burning in the country, according to the National Interagency Fire Center.

The fire in Oregon ballooned to more than 95,000 acres amid shifting winds and dry air, but improved weather this weekend was expected to slow its expansion.

The Cram Fire reached 77,158 acres as of July 17, remaining the state's largest blaze and growing nearly 13,000 acres since July 16.
