Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins. Each one has a common core structure: an amino group (NH₂), a carboxyl group (COOH), a hydrogen atom, and a central alpha carbon. What makes every amino acid unique is its R-group (side chain), which decides its chemical nature and role in proteins. Changes in pH can also alter their charge, allowing them to function perfectly inside the human body. #AminoAcids #ProteinStructure #BiochemistryBasics #LifeScience #MolecularBiology | Scoolam Foundati
