• SDO Images Triple Outburst in 304 Å • The SDO imaged a triple outburst of plasma in Sept. 2014. A solar eruption gracefully rose up above the Sun, twisted and turned in a sinuous manner. Some of the magnetic forces were driving the flow of plasma, but without sufficient force to overcome the Sun's gravity as it fell back into the Sun after failing to achieve escape velocity of 618 km/s .
