Today USCGC Eagle set sail alongside the Danmark and the Georg Stage in the Baltic Sea. In April of 1940 when Denmark fell to the Germans, the full-rigged Danish sail training vessel Danmark was moored in Jacksonville, Florida. She became a ship without a country. After negotiations, Danmark was chartered to the Coast Guard for the duration of the war. She was commissioned as a Coast Guard cutter on May 12, 1942.
