Parents often express their reluctance to give their children scissors due to safety concerns about potential cuts. In Occupational Therapy, I introduce children to scissors at an early age. There are numerous safety scissors available that only cut paper. Additionally, I focus on developing fine motor skills in preschool, which lays a strong foundation for mastering scissor skills. #scissors #occupationaltherapy #occupationaltherapist #finemotorskills #preschool #preschoolactivities #finemotora

A fantastic resource for PTs, OTs, and SLPs working with children is @toolstogrow, which offers a variety of activities. I frequently use these practice cutting sheets in my work. Additionally, you can incorporate activities like placing stickers on thumbprints and coloring stop signs. This provides a multisensory approach to motor learning, helping to engage the child more effectively. It’s also important to encourage them to slow down and complete each task thoroughly. #occupationaltherapy #Fi
